  • Lou Kaczmarek ’50, longtime Franklin HS football coach, inducted into Miami’s Cradle of Coaches

  • In the fall of 2002, Z-U Z raised more than $750 for the families of the victims of the September 11 attacks

2010–2016

  • Spring 2010: Z-U Z recognized for Five Pillars Award
  • Outstanding chapter president (Jonas Dominique)
  • Andrew Herman Memorial Chapter Excellence Award (aka “Chapter of the Year”)
  • AMs’ 3.55 GPA ranked 1st on campus; chapter’s 3.19 overall gpa was above average in all categories
  • Summer 2010: John Bloom was 6th brother to receive LXA’s Order of Merit (at Phoenix General Assembly)
  • Alumni affairs program, campus involvement, and member recruitment awards
  • Michael J. Raymond was elected to Grand High Zeta – first from Z-U Z to be so chosen
  • Jonas Dominique recognized for service on the Grand High Zeta
  • Z-U Z’s 219,918 lbs. of food was the most raised for North American Food Drive by any chapter of LXA
  • Fall 2010: AM’s GPA of 3.19 ranked 4th (chapter’s 3.11 GPA was 8th out of 30).
  • Won Greek Week Quiz Bowl (Ballard, Armbruster, Mead, Storey, and Meier)
  • Spring 2011: Sophomore Alek Lucke had honor of conducting Miami Symphonic Orchestra for music program directors attending an on-campus conference.
  • Z-U Z garnered awards for four of the Five Pillars (Scholarship and Learning, Community, Service and Philanthropy and Brotherhood and Sisterhood) .
  • Spring 2012: 33 members, 3.31 semester GPA, 2nd out of 31 fraternities and .01 away from #1
  • Cum GPA Ranking: 33 members, 3.31 was 5th of 31.
  • Initiated chapter members: our 27 guys 2nd with a 3.29 GPA spring semester
  • New chapter members: our six AMs 2nd with a 3.38 GPA for spring semester
  • Fall 2012: winners of the Kappa Classic golf tournament (Meier, Elkins, Roth, and Siegfried).
  • Z-U Z ranked third in contributions to North American Food Drive with 105,733 pounds!
  • Z-U Z earned Pillar Awards for Excellence in Community and Excellence in Service and Philanthropy, as well as an award for academic achievement
